Default PC III

I know this subject has been beat to death but here we go again !
&nbsp\\;
I have PCIII on my 08 roadking with vance&amp\\;hines slipon ovals and HD's stage I air filter kit.
I have the right MAP loaded&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; BUT !!!!!!!
Gas mileage sucks!
Performance is nowhere near as good stock!
And the poping on the decell is driving me nuts!

Is there any help out there?

dyno tuning is not in the budget at this time.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp \\; Thanks RKSEZ

Don't know if this will help ........ but dealer put slip-ons and stage 1 a/c on my 07.&nbsp\\; Ran OK for awhile - then started popping&nbsp\\;alot on decel.&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;
I pulled the a/c cover and the mech that installed the stage 1 a/c air filter ripped the rubber edge that seals it to the housing.&nbsp\\; Replaced the a/c filter with a K&amp\\;N - now no popping and runs better.
&nbsp\\;
Just FYI.

Kern is right, I tought I had the right map also and I was getting terrible mileage and occacional popping. I receantly replaced my map and mileage is better, but I'm still planning on doing a dyno tune, it's the only way to get it just right. &nbsp\\;

Let me guess. You ran it a while with the modified parts before installing the O2 eliminators, right? Now your map is fat, right? Try resetting your AFV. Easiest way is the Digital Technician at the dealer. Otherwise you can get it close by installing all-stock parts and riding a fair while, like a couple hours to be sure.

Guessing what happened to you is what had happened to me. Riding with the aftermarket breathing gear, just mufflers in my case, caused the Adaptive Fuel Values to change from the default of 100%. The engine accommodates the better breathing while in closed loop by effectively shifting the entire fuel mapping richer everywhere. You installed the O2 eliminators and locked in the higher AFV. The map was made on a bike with a lower AFV. You are now richer everwhere.

Maps need to be created at 100% AFV and come with instructions to reset AFV to 100%!

No dyno tuning necessary, but just lean the cruise range. Try setting all values to "0" from 0-3k RPM and 0-10% TP, then set values at 20% (up to 3k RPM) to 1/4 of those in present map but not below zero. Works great on my '07 with oil cooler, but I have not gotten much feedback on this tweak on bikes without coolers. No heat problems here and mileage is 7 mpg higher than Fuel Moto's original map. Iclick, I've been adjusting my PCIII in the cruise range and it has improved my mpgs.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; Don't have a cooler so not getting too crazy.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; Started at 36 mpg, now right at 40 mpg. &nbsp\\;\\\\\\;

Excellent information and you are right. I really get tired of being told we have to take our bikes to the dealer to get it right. I have never had good luck with any dealer.

&nbsp\\; That is why I pay an experienced bike builder to tune my bikes. I's worth every penny. &nbsp\\;
