what about when the hole stem comes off from the fairing,funny how it&nbsp\\;happens after you have your bike worked on ,man they are doing shitty work these days

CornbredNE and the rest. The part number for the fix is # 16585-96 , threaded insert to replace the press in stock model. It threads in and when you tighten the screws it tightens the insert...Good luck to all

Thank you very much for that part #, if the JB Weld doesn't work out I'll be running by the dealer later today to pick that part up....can't have the bike un-rideable on a nice Sunny day

The HD brass replacement kit is much better than the press in factory type. There are no instructions for installing these, and you can do it wrong. First, screw a windshield bolt all the way into the new fitting with the slotted part of the brass fitting oriented at the point of the bolt (not the head end). Those slots are what cut new threads into the plastic.

BTW, Locktite can cause plastics to crack! I would not use it near the fairing!
