Default '09 chassis

Any word yet on exactly what changes were made to the chassis?

Yeah, forty pounds more weight over the 08s.&nbsp\\; That's a total of 70 lbs heavier than the 06 (889 vs 819)

Since I'm a 5'2" girlie biker, I think I'll stick w/my '08 SG. I'm on my tippy toes as it is. I don't need another 40 lbs. to try to balance on a steep crown in gusting winds!

Comparing pics and specs of the 08s and 09s, it looks like to keep the same seat heights they put thinner seats on them. Wheelbase and steering angle are same but trail is 1/2-inch shorter. Should make them a little twitchier at speed. Ground clearance is same.

I plan to check the Dunlop site to compare their measurements on the tires. I suspect the changed overall ratios, primary is the same, is because they had to add a couple of cogs to rear sprocket to maintain same road/engine speeds with the new wheel/tire which probably rolls a bit further per revolution.

Overall, not interested. Do not see need for wider rear tire or pipe passing underneath like that.

Saw a Road Glide today, it sure looks cool with the rear tire and the different size front\\; but I'm very happy with my 08 and all the upgrades I've done. New wheels are nice too. HD did a nice job on the new bikes but nothing to entice me. There are a lot of 08's out there and they are dealing. Good time for someone looking.
