Ok folks, need yer help. Just bought an 08 Road King. I want to put 14" apes on it (I'm 5'7") with internal wiring. I guess I'm getting a bit hung up on all the additional stuff on the scoot, such as ABS, Cruise and the cableless throttle. I wanna do the work myself cause the stealership is tellin me its gonna be 6 hours in labor alone ($420.00) plus parts. Just don't wanna screw with the warranty or accidentally butcher somethin' I need. Any advice, assistance, etc would be greatly appreciated.

I'm in the same position as you except i dont think i'm brave enough to give it a try on my own.The dealer is a little leary of it as well since the new throttle is very new.I'm still debating if i'll go 16 or not.Had 12.5 on my fatboy and loved them.Almost forgot that wild1 does have the 14's now so thats an option.I'm 6'1 so either would probably do.

I also am in the same situation, however after many, many hours of searching on here, I figure it can't be all that hard.

He can give you the 411 on what you will need to make this a simple bar swap.
I will be going with the wild 1 chubbys, wo572 (14"apes) with the namz wire extensions for both the throttle by wire, and the control exentions, also going to go with the platinum series, brake lines, and clutch cable.
The stealer up here wants upwards of $2000 to get the job done, I just can't justify that when they only let a 1st year mechanic do the work.
just my 2 cents
