As soon as you do anything to the engine, the warranty is gone .... poof! My dealer 'said' they would stand behind my 103" because they installed it. My guess is that if my motor blows, they really will stand behind me and let me have it. Sorry to hear about your problems and hope they get fixed soon.
That's something ah keep gettin' conflictin' stories on...if (for example) ya have the dealer install the MoCo 110" kit on a 96" motor, is it still covered by warranty or not?
My understanding was that if the upgrade was done at time of puchase, and all HD/SE parts used, then covered under warranty as long as still epa "legal". \\; Anything done after purchase of the bike or not EPA legal, not covered under warranty. \\; I could be wrong, I'm told daily I am.
You guys aren't very well informed on warranties.
A dealer can't void a warranty on say your cam bearings, because you changed radios.
Nor can he void the warranty on the radio because you changed cams.
Also, they have to PROVE that the part that took a crap, failed because another part you installed caused it.
The burden of proof lies with the manufacturer, not the consumer.
Any idea how hard it is to PROVE that say a cam plate took a crap because you changed pistons?
It's impossible!
On another note, were your cam bearings changed when you changed cams?
EVERY time you make a cam change, you change cam bearings.

Simply put, your dealer is being a jackass...typical for dealers!
