I lost my right one last week on a trip out west, \\; Heard the noise and went back and picked it up. \\; half of the bolt was still in the screw hole. \\; It just snapped off. \\; This year going out west...my left one fell off on the hwy around Chicago. \\; didn't hear that one. \\; Rapid City Harley replaced it under warranty without replacing the insert and RKC cover. \\; both bolts were snapped off. \\; I attribute this to Cheap Chinese cast bolts... \\; both had blue locktite on the threads when pulled out.
Same thing happened to me on my '07 RKC with Kury adjustable passenger pegs. \\; I noticed that my left side passenger floorboard was loose. \\; I wiggled it a little bit and it just fell off in my hand. \\; The bolt was sheared off at the frame.
I've had the same problem, lost the right pass floorboard. No passenger at the time and the bolt just sheared off at the frame! Had the Kury pegs on mine too. I haven't put the Kury pegs back on.
Happened to me on the way down to Myrtle this year. \\; No passenger and the right board comes off. \\; Ruined it as I was doing 75 down I95 at the time. \\; I assumed the bolt came out until i went to replace it and realized the bolt sheared even with the frame. \\; I cannot beleive how many of us this has happened to.
This happened to me about a year ago. \\; After further investigation it was discovered that the rear engine mount was broken, causing the extra vibration. \\; There rear mount was replaced along with upgrading the bolts from Grade 8 to Grade 10 bolts.... \\; Haven't had the issue since.
