Tried to install the PCIII on my 08 Ultra today. No way I can get that SOB plug \\;to fit between the battery and rear of the tank as per the instructions!!! Looks easier on a non ABS bike but I have ABS!!
Tried that too. Just fits too damn tight and I'm afrait I'll crush both plugs \\;if I keep mashing around on it. \\;\\\\\\; I appreciate the reply though!! \\;\\\\\\; Thanks!! BTW it won't fit under the side cover due to the ABS module taking that space.
That is my main complaint with the PC-III. On my 07, mounting with the ECM under the right side cover, the PC-III harness should either be 2 inches shorter or 2 inches longer...
Hi,
I installed a PCIII on my 08 Street Glide with ABS this past winter. \\; \\; It was a very tight fit. \\; The first time I tried I gave up. \\; I thought there is no way this is going to fit infront of the battery. \\; I called FuelMoto and Keith suggested that I get a hairdrier and heat the wire bundle in front of the battery to soften it up. \\; I took his advice and I was able to push the wire bundle far enough to the left side of the bike to make room for the PCIII connector. \\; I also cut a little notch out of the top of the plastic cover that covers the battery. \\; Trust me It will fit it just takes a bit of fiddling.
Good Luck,
Willie
Save yourself a lot of headaches. Take your Dremel tool and trim the front edge off of the plastic ECM tray. Everything will go together very easily. If I recall, the PCIII document suggests that might be necessary on an ABS bike where you must mount the PCIII on top of the ECM.
