ok im leaving for sturgis sunday.&nbsp\\; i was going over my bike today and found that my shift linkage has broken.&nbsp\\; I have 17000 miles on my 06 street glide.&nbsp\\; im curious to know how many have had this part wear out or break.

 

Ive had the OEM linkage strip out before. Now its one of the first things I replace.

 

hmmmm, guess I better check mine.

 

Replace it with a heim joint linkage and be done with it.

 

Been there done that.

 

My linkage broke at 29,000 miles.&nbsp\\; Replaced it with one of the HD linkages with heim joints.&nbsp\\; Had never paid much attention to the shift linkage before it broke and was pretty disappointed to find that HD installed such a cheap stock linkage on any bike.&nbsp\\; The stock linkage looks to me to be doomed to failure within the first 30k miles

Mine broke around the same mileage as yours did.

 

I replaced mine with a Kury one.

Mine broke once and some fellow bikers had a spare and fixed it for me.
Now I carry a spare in case someone else has the same problem.
