kill switch always, had 1 wreck and hit kill switch on the way over the bars

I have been told by my HD mechanic that with the bikes with the throttle by wire, if you just use the ignition and not the kill switch, it can lead to the revving RPMs. If you have an 08, use the kill switch. Since I have started using it, no problems.

thought it was other way, kill switch while turning throttle causes high rpm

Kill switch after I am sure idle is at 1K....then ignition switch. I have hit the kill already before the engine was at normal opp temp and the RPM stayed high. Had to do the ign switch on and off thing to reset it...PIA. Now I check the RPM first then hit the kill.
