Default Tire psi

I bought an 08 Electraglide standard on Saturday, on Tues I checked the tire psi and it was down to 25 so I filled both tires to 36 psi, on Wed. morning I checked them and they both were down to about 34, Today I checked the front tire and it was down to 32, I understand if there is a hole they would loose air but this is both tires. and right after I bought the bike. Is this normal for these touring bikes?

No,
Best way is fill the tire while it's cold, before riding. If that's what you did
then maybe the valve stems loose, you can check w/ soap and water mix
even around the rims
Goodluck....

The pressure will vary some with the ambient temperature. If you check and set it in the morning in the garage before a ride it will be ?? psi. If you push it outside and the tires are in direct sunlight for a while it will go up some. Ride it and it will go up more. They will always be a higher pressure after a ride compared to what it was when you set them while they were cold so to speak...Check them before EVERY ride, it takes all of what, two minutes!

I would be willing to bet the dealer did not set the correct pressures before you took delivery...

Even with the H-D gauge I lose some air putting it on the stem. I have a small air comp. close and put a little more than 36 and then let some out. They do fine at a week at a time. Safe way would be to check at every ride, but I do not do that.

Not surprised they would come from the dealer at 25. But sounds like something is wrong. I would do the soapy water thing. I have an 08 EG Standard and my tires hold air pretty well. Just guessing but I would say I lose about a pound every couple weeks. I usually run 36-37 in both.

Default Pressure

You can find the correct tire press for your ride on the left side of the neck check the tire pressure on the tag there.

Check that your gage isn't faulty. Had a few over the years that would read different from time to time. A good dial gage would be nice to add to a tool collection. Soapy water leak test is good. Everything being equal, you should only loose 0-1 lb a month. Olde Skool brought up a good point about temps. Try keeping everything consistent.

The '08 Touring Service manual recommends 36psi both front and rear for 2008 touring models.

No, not normal. I have an 08 EGS and the only air I loose is what leaks out from checking the pressure. I use the same guage and always check the pressure when the tires are cold.
