Fuel Filter Shell AGAIN!
OK, so mine failed at 8100 miles, called the dealer and he replaced if without an issue...everything is good right? WRONG..Now I have 9100 miles on it and it failed again! I just got my recall letter in the mail and I thought I could ignore it because they already replaced it. But they replaced it with another one with the same issue and didn't tell me. So now they are on the way to pick up my bike AGAIN to wait for the redesigned part to install it!
Sorry for the rant, I guess I should be grateful that they got me on the road again the first time, but they did not tell me that it was not the redesigned one and the problem was gone! Now I have to wait again...... SH*T!

You actually might be better off now. I arranged to have mine done about three weeks ago. My appointment was this past Friday. Harley instructed the dealers to cahnge the sending unit as well as the fuel baset. Anyone know why? I saw them take the parts out of the the recall kit and install into my bike.
I'm scheduled for this afternoon. I had ordered the shell and gasket kit just in case, but got the recall before I picked up the shell. Dealer didn't have the kits yet, so I asked him to install the new shell under the recall. He told me to wait for the kit, it had additional parts in it. From these posts, I see that's true. I'll try to find out why the sending unit is included .....
The dealer I am working with is good, but they are 50 miles away! I hope they will deal with me about getting the bike back to me. What a pain, especially with the gas prices!
