Question FLHX Windshield Comparison

I’ve read reviews and searched ‘till I’m blue-in-the face. I’m looking for an actual comparison – if one exists.

If someone has experienced this scenario and could provide some competent feedback, it would be greatly appreciated.

The windshields shields have (or had) to be installed on a ’07 FLHX with the stock seat. The rider needs to be 5’11” to 6’ tall.

The windshields in question are: the 6.5 " Klock Werks Flare windshield

.......and the Clearview 6.5” Upper Recurve

Any comments, yey or ney will be appreciated

I tried everything... Ended up making my own. Looks like crap (heat gun & kitchen gloves... Not subtle) but I lit a cig at 35MPH with a Bic and built an ash at 70MPH.

Based on a cross between several shields - Flared, recurved and pulled back. NINE inches... 6.5 on the Flare is "okay" but not nearly enough IMO. Not at my height (6' with a stock seat on an '08 FLHX). Recurve wasn't nearly effective enough on its own. CB was just too radical with that huge pullback (at 12", it was pretty odd). And this design allows for all the add-on extras (pouches, GPS mounts, etc.).

The amount of air that pushes to the side on this thing is startling... I was laughing like an idiot when that ash just sort of "floated" - forward away from my face - at 70MPH. So slowly, I could've reached out and stopped it from hitting my shield pouch.

Ideally, I'd love to hook up with someone who actually knows how to "properly" shape these things and mass-produce them. With this one, I personally think I could make a bundle (selling them for half of what the the Flare is going for). :-)

But time & capital... And not having the proper connections... Maybe some day.

That all said - Right now, I have a standard 12" (non-HD... Can't remember the brand, but it's thicker and much more stable) shield on. If Brian (Klock) would just make a 9" version of the Flare, I think he'd clean up.
