Most of these are for Nanos, anyone find a holder for regular pods (60gb)?
Just be careful, I have a classic 80 gb, and in reading here, and other places on the web, the nanos, shuffles and the like, are 'flash drives' almost like a usb stick or something, and typically can handle the vibration of the bike/road, but the classics like mine have a 'hard drive' meaning like a computer spinning hard drive, which can get fried by the bike/road vibration on any sort of fixed mount.
However, I've heard of people keeping them on their body/jacket or in a windshield bag or something w/out problems, but if you mount it to the bike, it will get hit w/ a lot more vibration, and likely fry it...
I got the one that uses one of the bolts that hold the control housing on. No rings on the handlebar. All you need is a case with a belt clip and it slides right in and holds it securely.
Another here for Gilbo. I just got mine back from the powder coater. Went with flat black to match the control housing. I love it. Bobby is a class act and has a great product. Money well spent.
I don't care for anything mounted on my bars. The mount in the picture ( it is empty in the picture below and to the right of the GPS ) is from Best Buy and cost a whopping $15. A couple of us now have them and they work great!.
You probably want to get a nano for the bike. I have heard all kinds of stories about hard drive based iPods failing from vibration. I have the Gilbos mount and it rocks
