Most re-install them 3M tape (same stuff auto body use to attach side moldings) Works well. But now would be the time (before they clear-coat it) to take it to a custom painter and have him\her put a killer logo on the tanks. Then take it back and have it clear-coated.

Default 06 ultra emblem

When the painter removed the emblem, did it damage the paint underneath the emblem? I have an emblem I want to take off, but I am afraid of damaging the paint. I tried soaking the emblem with paint thinner, but no go.

you can heat the emblem up with a heat gun/blow dryer, just don't boil the paint. Otherwise you can use a piano wire and work it behind the emblem, that will take it off without damaging the tank, just don't use anything to pry behind it or a dent will be there.

Use a heat gun or a good hair dryer and use some light fishing line it will come off in no time . Take your time and you won't mess the paint

Do what So Cal Pappy said and use Goo Gone to remove anything left over, then wax it good.

Home Depot and Lowe's sells the 3M Exterior Grade double sided tape. About $6.00 for a roll. Tape has a red backing on it. Holds like crazy. I agree with the others - hair dryer and fishing line works great.
