Default Fltruc ??

HHMM we will see soon ..

When I picked up the 08 FLTR anniversary model , I ordered the TourPak , told dood that I didnot want the Ultra TourPak , as it has the pre drilled holes for rear speakers and I wasnt gonna fork over $600 for the speakers and harness ..

Couple days later , I call an tell him to either order or take off the shelf a brake light for the TP .. Says , "Oh the TourPak already has a brake light" .. I'm at werk , way off on a cellphone and tired , nothing registers in brain , so I says OK ..

Took bike in last Saturday for a Monday appointment for the TP install , asked parts guy to see TP ... Go back in parts room , guy opens box and , HHMM we have an Ultra TourPak .. ZZIPP mouth shut and say sumpthin' like " dern good job of matching the paint" ..

So today I call around lunch and this young kid in service answers , tell him who I am and if my bike is ready .. All of a sudden he gets real scary , says he's only one in dept , everyone is at lunch , he'll call me back in a few minits when he finds out if it's ready .. Thinkin' sumpthin' aint right here ..

In about 15 minits the GM calls me .. Waiting on a couple parts , I says what ?? Then he tells me that they knew I wanted a Standard King TourPak , not the Ultra , and that somewhere in the line sumpthin' got fouled and they sent me an Ultra TourPak .. Said they had two options , either make this one right or order the one I wanted .. I'm thinkin , yeah you order the one I wanted , you're stuck with an Ultra TP with an anniversary paint job , you'll never sell ..

So he says they felt the best thing to do was take a hit on it and upgrade at no extra cost to me ..

So seeing as how the Ultra comes with all the lights , and it has predrilled holes for the speakers , I'm guessing that I'll be looking at some rear speakers .. They're the only "accessories" I can think of that he would need to order ..

I do have a punch line tho' , if there are no speakers , I'll tell 'em to order the right TourPak !!

Keeping fingers crossed ..

I've set up my 2000RG as my own interpretation of an FLTRCU. It has everything the Ultra has except for the cruise module being installed and I use soft lowers in the winter instead of hard lowers. I enjoy ridin it enough that it's in the shop now for the factory eng. reman. & the S/E 6spd. install. You'll enjoy yours I'm sure. I 'm lookin fowward to another 119,000+ miles once I get it out of the shop. Ride Safe!

Yeah this 'll be my "own" interpretation as well .. I love the sharkie ..

Wish they still offered it in Ultra .. They didnt then they did , now they dont again ..

This is my third one , 84 and a half Evo Tour Glide had 220k on it when I sold it for a barely used 88 FLTC that turned 342k a week before I got this RG as we now call it ..

I prefer the soft lowers too , tho it barely gets cold enuff around here anymore with all the weird weather shifts ..

Maybe contacting you about some other stuff ..

The rear speakers will be about $400+ and the one or two wiring harnesses for them will be something north of $100 so operational speakers will be something close to $600 in parts.

Hogtunes offers rear speakers with pods and an amp for about $350.

Good luck with your project. My dealer has a 105th Ann. RG with the chopped TP that was a trade in for an '09--nice bike.

Well semi disappointed , somewhat .. picked the bike up , they rolled it out with speakers on it .. Cutouts on side for rear controls are just that cutouts , no switches ..

I rarely even use the radio , so get home , an hour from dealer , and we try the rear speakers , they dont work .. Call back , service guy says well I'm sure the mechanic checked it out .. So I call back to parts manager , and he says , oh we just installed the boxes , no speakers ..

No rear speakers is a non issue , but I am gonna call Monday and see if they wont throw some switches in .. If not then I may get cranky ..

What happened was I told parts guy I wanted the Standard King TourPak , not the Ultra , but he ordered the Ultra and I paid for the Ultra , so they are not out anything right now other than speaker boxes ..

Either way , I'm glad I got the Ultra , cause it is a better looking TP than the Standard .. I only wanted the standard because I knew I wasnt going to put rear speakers on ..
