Default Radios...again.

I have read about all the radio information over the past few months but didn't pay too much attention to them. NOW, that I am going to buy a radio for my Road King Classic, I can't find anything that will help me out. SO, here it goes again....

I am looking for the best possible set up (headset, radio) for a portable radio system. I am not really looking for an Ipod, just something that will play cds and radio. I am not sure about the wire from the radio to the headset. Is there a good headset with the radio combined? I will buy an Ipod if it is the best all around set up.

Thanks for any input...again.

Not sure how a portable CD player would do without having problems skipping.

Check out a good MP3 player with a FM tuner - IRiver has a couple of nice ones.

There are a lot of handlebar mounted speaker systems out there that have amplifiers that you can plug a cd player or mp3 player into. The MP3 player would be the best because you have no cd's to mess with or worry about skipping. I'm not sure what look you are going for, but keep surfing and you will find all kinds of stuff out there. I think hawgtunes has a setup you can use.

good luck.

You definitely want an iPod over a CD player. With a decent iPod, you can load probably more songs than you'd ever want to listen too. It all depends on the size. With my old bike I used the iPod Shuffle and just let it play. I could put over 100 songs on it which translated to about 9 hours of music.

That's the way I'd go.

Some of the people I ride with have either Sirius or XM Radio receiver mounted on their handlebar. Kuryakyn sells a nice kit. But, if you rather have a CD/Radio, try checking out solutions on Ebay or the internet. There are many different mounting and listening options to choose from for your bike! Also, there is a vendor called Dragonfly Cycle Concepts, who has several solutions for the Road King.
