This is what I came up with. I made my own bracket as you can see. It actually started out as an outdoor electrical box, cut off one side. Hand crafted with a jig saw, palm sander, and hand files. I bought the RAM bracket on line for $8.50 plus shipping. I purposely installed the RAM mount upside down. The lip is more secure this way.

 

Kuryakyn has a chrome one that works pretty good. Just need one of those neoprene cases w/belt clip to clip the ipod onto it.
