I got numbers from 3 dealers and then went to my local (closest) dealer and they would not budge on the price but gave me accessories (around $800) worth and I went with them. Got 2 free t-shirts also.
I give customers shirts, pens, marketing shwag all the time both during and after a deal is closing. Every business is different. I would think a dealership would want to give away a dealership t-shirt. It becomes free advertising.
DANG!!! Sounds like some of youall need some horse tradin lessons! I got full KBB retail for my trade off KBB retail purchase price for my current bike, No DOC fees (MY deal breaker no matter what I buy) and got the dealer to pay the sales tax. I also got 20% off any accessory purchased in the first week, and 2 free T shirts! I didn't purchase new, and I didn't finance. Walking in with an envelope full of cash to pay the difference made the deal happen to my terms this time.
Keep in mind that when you are looking for repair work the dealer you purchased the bike from will sometimes be a little more willing to work with you. That might be worth a few dollars.
Hello Skoot, I am really not looking for anything free. You don't have, because you didn't asked. It doesn't hurt too ask...But I am looking for the best deal I can get. Also, being a conservative consumer has giving me more time to educate myself toward purchasing a motorcycle. I don't want to make a mistake and buy the wrong bike for me. It is not an easy decision.
Thanks for your reply.....
What's upppp!!!! I have received all three quotes from three different dealers. My local dealer is $1000.00 dollars more than the dealer located 120 miles from me. Also, the out of town dealer will be giving me 20% off of accessories and apparel as long as I own my bike. He said I will even throw in two T-shirts.
Now, that's what I am talking about!!! A satisfied customer. The dealer makes money and I am happy!!!!
