I wouldn't ride without my mine. In fact I'm probably going to buy a spare! I have one on my StreetGlide, it did stop buffeting around my face, and I have watched those larger bugs lift up and over! Plus the looks are killer. I don't want a Police sized windshield on my Glide, it takes away from the custom bagger look. I have experimented with a 6" , 8" and 9" while traveling. Always installing the 4" back while riding around town. But the 6.5 Klockwerks now will stay on for good. my 2 cents
Hey Pastor John, is that the 6 or 12" on your RG? I just bought a used 12" to switch with my -1 Clearview. To tell the truth, I'm not expecting much with the Klockworks shield, but with the great looks, I just have to try it. I'm 5'8" so maybe, just maybe, I'll excape the wind turbulance. I haven't received it yet, when I do, I'll post my impressions.
I love My Klock Werks windshield on My SG! It quieted the buffeting down 100%. It stremlines the air that does hit My helmet...but NO buffeting. of course I'm not as tall as ya'll being 5'6"! I wouldn't replace this shield on My bike...for ME it's both Looks and Function! BUT...that's My 2 cents! Mike
I put the 12" Flare on my 2000 RG at the beginning of the season. The guy I bought the bike from had a 19" windshield on it. I've put about 2000 miles on the bike with the Flare on it including a trip to Gatlinburg, TN. I think it works great, actually better that the 19" windshield that I had on it before. The air off the windshield hits me right at the top of my head, when wearing a helmet I don't feel it. In the rain I just hunch down a bit and I can see over the shield but must of the water goes over and around my head. I'm 5'10 with a 34" inseam. One of the best puchases I've made for the RG.
For those of you who mwntioned having th KW on your SG please post some pics. I am looking at getting one, however, I have not seen one on the SG. Thiey do look killer on all the other bikes I have seen them on.
Works great on my streetglide. Had a 6" fastaire before and decided to give it a try. Tough price but I would definitely buy another. I am 5'7" and it throws the air about 3' over my head.
Blueride- that's the 12" on my Road Glide. Let us know what you think after you try yours; there is a lot of discussion about these, and we need your input...
