The 5 speed is a PROVEN Tranny. The 6 speed MAY be better, it MAY be worse. I for one Don't want one until its been on a Harley Production Line 4 or 5 years..... hdman

Excellent point! Especially seeing the problems that have popped up with the Dyna 6 speed. While I would love to have an overdrive gear on my RK, my 5 speed is a proven trans, just like that Baker 6 speed thats on my list of "needed" parts.
S&S has been providing the Harley rider with realiable hp and tq for a bunch of years, going way further back than my 1980 Shovelhead. Their parts are on the way to provide me with the added umph, I crave.

On a side note, my next door neighbor just returned from the MMI school in Fla, and he told me the other day, that Harley brought a water-cooled twin-cam 88 bike to their school to show off

A dealer here in CT still has rigid mount Sporties brand new in storage unsold. Once the rumor of them mounted in rubber came out that was it.

I bought a 2008 SG and this nike vibrates awefully bad. The jug o rings are leaking and it has a valve noise. The best part is the bike has a whole 668 miles on it. Harley says that the vibration is normal and now I have to take it up with the HD rep. My knocklehead ran smoother then this bike. My question is--anybody else having this problem??? Has HD decided to charge more for bikes that are garbage??? I have been riding HD for 40 years and I feel the only thing they have accomplished is stealiung our money. I really would like some no nonsense feedback. Thanks Bill

The 07's have had some issues with the cranks scissoring, meaning runout goes beyond specs, causing excessive vibration. I don't believe they changed anything with the 08 lower end. Keep pushing your dealer to pull the cam chest and primary to check the runout if the vibration is as bad as you say.

I have an 08 SG it only has 360 miles on it but it does not vibrate no where near as bad as my Fat Boy did. As of now I do not have any leaks. Stay on your dealer to fix it.
