No disrespect but must of the dealers I've come across a lucky if that know the front end from the back end of a bike. Hell one I was talking to didn't even know that their's a catalytic converter in the left hand muffler and that was only a couple of weeks ago.
The MOCO can keep a secret better than the CIA.

Have installed a SE 6 speed in my bike. I knock around the dealership all the time. And the other day I asked about - assuming the 6 spd. would make the touring class in '07 - if the '07 touring bikes would come with the 6 speed. My dealer told me no. Maybe the dealer doesn't know itself, is lying, whatever. That's just what I was told when asking a direct question.

My 6 speed makes things quieter and smoother. I really like it.

Also keep in mind that it's not in the dealer's best interest to play up the '07 models. There's still a LOT of '06 inventory that hasn't even hit the showrooms yet. One other thing... How many dealers knew about the the '06 Dyna changes prior to the July dealer show?

Yep. My point exactly. Until the July dealer show, ANYTHING you hear or read about the '07 lineup is purely speculation.

On the other hand, speculating is fun.

TowJam is all over this one............Dealers have been slammed with inventory this year, take the bikes or move to the back of the line, from what I've seen. Honda car dealers have dealt with this concept for years. Carolina Harley has been slam packed with bikes since Nov of 05 and not just Sportys. Dealers are not going to leak anything other than SE parts will no longer be available over the counter after xx-xx-xxxx, so they can sell all the shiat and get it off the books. Same thing happened in 05, when the famous "Download" quit working, all aftermarket pipes 20-40% off, LOL........They ain't that nice[:@]

I'll take 6 speeds any day. More ratio options means always being close to the optimum engine speed at any given time. And by the way my last bike held 7.4 gallons of petrol. Get off and rest, yes. Take a break, yes. Wait in line to fuel up? Not as often as everyone else.

Toytech.....bet you just got off a Honda ST1300 didnt you...or maybe a Concours. I've had 2 ST1100's and a ST1300. Its great going 300+ miles without having to worry about fuel.

This is one of the reasons why I made my original post. A good friend of mine that works for Buell told me about the 6-speed trannies at least six months before they were introduced. Of course at the time, it was just another one of those rumors, so I asked about it several times at the various dealers I visit. Everyone from salesmen, to parts guys, to mechanics, and even one general manager had no idea that a six speed was even being developed.

Either they don't want us to know for sales purposes, or they are just as in-the-dark as the rest of us.
