Last week when I was riding with the wife on our trip we rode over a dip on the Hwy and it seemed as though the rear tire rubbed inside of the fender. Then the turn signal indicator stayed on the left signal. Once we hit another bump, everything worked normal. Occasionally it would revert back and forth when hitting bumps.
Then later while riding both my speedo and tach stopped working with only the security indicator light being on even when the bike is off. Also my brake lights, turn signals, cigarette plug stopped working. Besides this, the bike ran normal the remaining 4 hours home.
Initially I suspected the TMax ECU being the cause. I disconnected the battery for a few minutes and even swapped in my factory ECU. The problem still exists.
Before I begin tearing into it, does anyone have any ideas? Is there a fuse that controls all of these items on the same circuit?
Are you blowing fuses? I kept losing the brakelights and cruise on mine (blowing fuses) and took it in to the dealer for repairs. They said that they found a bare wire under the seat and that it was fixed. Picked it up and headed to Sturgis. On the way up it did it again. Took it back in when I got back and they found three more bare wires in the fairing. They fixed it all under extended warranty.
Where are the fuses located? My cruise stopped as well. My first look would be the rear harness inside of the fender. Aren't the rear brake/turn wires run their?
Under the cover on the left hand side. Pull the cover off (it's held on with rubber donuts) then slide the harness towards the back of the bike. Pull the fuse cover toward you and there are the fuses. There should be some spares there too.
Sounds like you have an intermitant short. Maybe the bare wire in the fairing?
Would that still cause the tach, speedo, cruise, brake & turn signals, cigarrete plug to stop working? When I turn on the ignition, only the security indicator lights up.
Does your brake light stay on? Check your switch housings on the handlebars that they are tight and up all the way. Make sure the wires are in the groove and not pinched or streched and nothing is touching. Usually if you have a bare wire you will blow a fuse.

The tail light stays on and when applying the brakes, it doesn't change to the brighter brake light. I'll check the switch housings and wires this evening.
