Only Extended. My rule of thumb is if the cover is going on, I'll plug it in.

I usually keep it on. I don't have a chance to ride much during the week, and use the stereo a lot while I'm in the garage.

I don't even use one. Went through a long, New England winter just fine. I did take it out for a ride atleast once each month except January though.

If I know I won't be riding for a few days it is on the tender. I've had battery/electrical problems in the past, but not since I started using a tender, might be a coincidence or not, but I figured why mess with what's working. I don't ride much during the week, use the wife's 250 Rebel to commute to work, so the Harley mostly comes out on the weekends.

Two years in a row I had to buy a new battery after sitting out the winter. Last 3 or 4 I've pluged it in when I tuck it in for the winter and has been ok come spring.

Only for the extended winter. It would be unusuall not to go for a ride at least every week for the rest of the year and never have a problem.

I ride year round, but here in Colorado we get about 2 weeks in the winter of well below zero temperatures. My garage isn't well insulated so during those times I'll put a tender on my cars as well as my bikes. Cold weather can suck the life out of a machine.
