for what its worth,i took the songs in itunes that i liked the best, resized them to 32kps,burned them as a data file to a cd.729 songs and had room for more.put it in the cd player on the bike and leave it there.lot easier than a mp3 player.
I just purchased a sony walkman mp3. I used velcro (cut to fit) with the tape on the back side, and mounted it just to the left of the speedometer. So far so good, and it doesn't look bad either.
For my bike, the stereo is an aftermarket unit fitted to a police bike, so I have more realesate surrounding the radio, simply used Velcro right to the dash next to the radio, clean and simple, since the Nano is black, the stereo is black and the dash is black it looks very clean.
For my buddies ultra with the biketronic unit I installed for him it is similar to what you have on your SG, so Velcro right next to the radio wasn't an option. On his left handelbar, we mounted a standard coin dispenser bracket and removed the coin holder part so he just had a small rectagular flat piece of steel left. A little Velcro magic and it looks very clean and finished.

I've got a Creative Nano Plus 1gb that I just used a stainless pipe clamp to attach to the handlebars using the sport workout clip it comes with. I am more please with the CD/MP3 sound quality than the Aux In so I just usually burn MP3's to CD and don't bother with it.
I saw where someone had put a patch of heavy duty velcro at the base of his tank dash. Than ran the output wire under the tank and up to the Aux socket on the raido. I did the same and it works well. I have a 4gig sony Walkman and you reall don't even know it's there.
