Left bike at dealer before coming to Fontana for the Nationwide and Cup Races to have rear tire replaced.
Bought the tire from Servicing Dealer
Service writer called yesterday afternoon saying that she had a bulletin saying this tire should not be used with cast wheels. Said tire had to be mounted with a tube on spoked wheels.
Michelin site does not have any warning about this.
This site does not seem to have issues (used search and did not find anything)
Got front and rear Michleins on 06 EG. No problems... Love the grip...
Seems you got the wrong information from a unreliable source. My EG
does have cast wheels BTW................ hdman
I have commanders on my ultra with cast wheels. The local dealer had issues getting the bead to seat. It appears the the inner bead fits tighter than the Dunlap's or others. They tried for 5 hours to get it to seat and failed. I asked if I could try it at home, they were glad to hear that because it was quitting time. Once I got home and got my hose and valve out I had it mounted and aired up in 5 minutes. What did I do different. First my compressor is set at 175 psi. there's was at 135 psi I was able to put more cfm into the tire. I used a valve connected to a hose that would tightly fit over the valve stem with no restriction. I also did not have to hold the valve open by hand leaving me both hands to hold the tire to get the best initial seal against the wheel. I took the wheel back the next morning to get it balanced which they did for free I think they were imberrased.
