i don't have any experience with 2 up seats, but i do know that allen at mean city cycles can modify stock seats so they are lower, firmer, and just more comfortable in general. c&c seats might have a 2 up (i am using their solo seat now, a+), corbin probably does too, though their customer service is not that great, and they have raised their prices dramatically. mustangs are reported to be very comfortable, but my experience is that they actually raise you up some. i'm sure some folks will chime in with 2 up recommendations, but i think the mean city cycles is gonna be the cheapest.
no, the 440s are not air shocks. but the preload is easily adjustable without any tools. they are kinda pricey, but do have a 'lifetime' warranty. in fact, i had to send mine back after 4 years (waiting for replacements now). hard to get used to the stock height again
The Progressives are not air shocks and that presents a problem when I am riding 2-up. Had I know they existed, I would've gone with the heavy duty version. My next mod will be the Arnott Air Ride!
