I never understood why people thought the IDS would stop a whine from gears. Square cut gears, are square cut gears. Putting rubber bumpers on the pulley won't make the gears any less square cut

Every HD I currently own or owned in the past has ALWAYS RUN BETTER ON JACK DANIELS! Screw the oil and IDS!

I have notice a loud pop sound when going from neutural to 1st gear. I guess that is just normal!?

I notice a whine when I first shift into 5th - it disappears fairly quickly. No whining in 1st.

5th gear hell, what about that first gear whine? Sounds like a freaking jet taking off.

5th gear in early 6 speed was straight cut gear. Harley says cause stronger. Also cheaper.

Some people run gear lube
