Depends on how far it is to the nearest gas station when you run out of gas! Might have to push it a long ways. Oh wait, you meant how far can you push the engine I wouldn't redline the bike for an extended period if that's what you mean
new to harley's own a eg standard not sure how far you can push one
There is no redline just a rev limiter. You'll know when you get there, the engine will sound like it cutting out as the fuel is shut off until the RPMs drop back down. Try it for yourself and let us know where it happens.
Supposedly you can't hurt the engine because the ECM won't let you. In theory that it.

if i had to really push it i might go a few feet. did not know it had a rev limiter just was no markings on tach like my old rice rockets. but thats cool bike has plenty of torque and get up and go.
wierd - my tach has a redline after 5k RPM -- i did push it but as mentioned above - ECM will cut out fuel and it just bounces at 5200rpm till u back off throttle. Doesnt sound like the bike like it there. I had Stage 1 download - i wouldnt even think of going to 6200RPM..
as STage one is supposed to increase the REV limit.

I've bounced mine off the rev limiter a few time which I believe is set at 6200rpm. No point though as with the stock cam it stops making power at 5500 although it holds it to the limiter
It actually doesn't hurt to bump up against the rev limiter once in awhile after you have the engine break-in period done. It kind of reminds the engine that it is capable of running at that high of an rpm. I run mine through the gears every once in awhile and make a point if hitting the limiter....don't hold it there, but hitting it, then shifting or backing off won't hurt anything.
You've pretty well hit the top of the power curve around 4500 rpm but it'll keep on revving to the limiter. I wind mine out every now and then, but usually shift to a lower gear around 5000 rpm. Love how it sounds at high rpm though.
