Default Docking kit instruction sheet

I want to install this on my 08 Road King. I have a docking kit 53803-06 But no paper instruction sheet. This came with the backrest and pad I bought used. Does any one have a copy of the instruction sheet the can email me? I have the Moats family install downloaded but I am not sure of which parts to use. I am not even sure all the parts are here? I would like to try to install myself if possible. Thanks Mark

Go to your local Harley dealer, tell them you got it as a gift for Christmas and finally decided to put it on and can't find the instructions. Most dealers will gladly make a copy of the instructions. Hope this helps.

Honestly, I threw the instructions away and went with the Moats directions and a little trial and error. Once you see how it all goes on, it should become very intuitive and then it is just a matter of the proper spacers for the detach points. I DID NOT reroute my shock line, no need, it fit prefectly right where it was. The only problem I see, if you bought it used and they had it on another model other than yours, you may not have the right spacers you need, but that will become obvious very quickly once the brackets are on.

DO NOT RE-ROUTE THE AIR LINE!!!!!!!!!!!!The only reason the instructions say to do this is for convienence of getting to the air valve without having to take the detachable backrest off, which is not a problem at all. I did the re-route the thing and after I did it it cost me 35 bucks and 5 days of not riding, yes I broke it. also by you re-routing it could void your warranty on the shocks.

Here ya go. My scanner software isn't working properly so I had to make separate scan files rather than combining the pages into one file.

If possible have a strong friend with you when you install it. It takes all of 10 minutes to instal with four hands, whit two who knows. Thats because the parts you release when you take out the bolts out will shift just enough to make it hard to get them back in.

On page 7 of the directions the is a strap that mounts between the front and rear docking points. Mine did not come with that strap. Where can I get one? The dealer?
