Anyone have any experience with this antenna? I have one of those Advance Auto Parts rubber duck antennas, but I know I lost some reception with it. Does this one work any better? Here is the link:
The only experience I have is with the J & M shorties. Despite what John says (he is an advertiser here), I experienced a decrease in transmission/reception with the CB when I installed them, and also decreased reception with the AM/FM antenna.
The dealers have told me that HD worked on that and perfected the antenna -- and there is no loss in transmission/reception. However, I called the 1-800 number for HD customer service and was told that there is minimal loss. So, that is the take on it for now. Seems size really does matter....
I have the Autozone shorty antenas on my Ultra. I like the look and they dont hit the garage every time I pull in it. I listen to my cd or mp3 more than the radio.
I have not used the CB so I cant give you an answer on the CB reception. It is hard to beat two short antenas for about 12-13 dollars. I kept my long HD antenas for the long rides when I get a chance.
I have been using them for over two years with no complaints. Just keep an eye on them I had one disappear the other day and it cost about 6.00 to replace.
I just put a set of the HD shorty antennas on my ultra and they work well. The SWR on the CB was within specs and I had minimal loss of reception on the am/fm. I think they were worth the $60 I paid for them.

I just installed the HD ones on my 08 Ultra. AM FM works great. We were outside the zone of our normal radio station today trying to listen to the Eagles game and it worked great. Have not tried out the CB antenna yet.
I put the H-D shorty antenna on my Street Glide and I lost quite a bit of reception so I put my stock antenna back on.The shorty might work much better on an Ultra because the mount is higher.
