Default HD breather and tune question

Hello all,

Hoping someone might have some insight for me.

Already had the SE high flow air kit and stage 1 download with SE slipon's

Just installed the HD breather, kept everything else the same. I know most said that there should be no reason to re-tune.

Took short trip around the block, and all seems ok. Was wondering though, what would I expect to hear or see if things were not ok, if I needed a retune.

Call me paranoid, but I do not like to take chances with something that costs this much.

Thanks for the help.
Mike.

I wouldn't think you would need to do anything. But someone on here will know more than me. I wouldn't think the heavy breather would flow much more air to cause a problem.

What you will be listening for is a 'rocks in a can' rattling sound which is detonation. This is especially evident when adding lots of throttle going up hill at about 2500 rpm. My guess is if you already had a high flowing air filter and just changed for another you will be just fine.

You should be ok. Keep an eye on your plugs to see what's going on in your motor, also give a look at the top of the pistons with a bore light when you check your plugs. If you feel like you might be haveing a problem and want some more piece of mind, get her dyno tuned again. I doubt you would neet it though.
