First ever flat while riding
Rear tire went down on the way home this afternoon. I was running about 65 when I heard something hit the bottom of the bike. Then there was a strange sound like a track running off a sprocket and then the back end got real squirrelly. Fortunately, traffic was light and the road was flat. I coasted to a stop. Wouldn't you know, the only biker that stopped was on a Goldwing. Go figure.
I had a rear flat a couple years ago on an 1100 V-Star... About the same thing - rear end was feeling funny/squirrely. I finally slowed to the right shoulder and it was obvious when I came to a stop and the rear was sunk really low.
It must have been a slow leak in my case as it didn't get too wild. I'd hate to have a big blowout tho or worse yet a FRONT tire is really scarey from what I hear.

So how did you fix it? Did you get a tow?

Got a tow back to the house. Cost $90 and took about 1.5 hours to get it home. I still haven't looked the tire over to see how big the hole is. It didn't go down real fast, though, so it's probably fairly small. I was just about in need of a tire anyway and the rear pads need to be checked. Other than the towing expense and the aggrevation, the timing wasn't too bad. Ride safe.
