I have two of those one for the house and one for the shop. House opener is 12v so I wired to the switched 12v on the bike. Shop is only 3v so had to leave the battery in.
I took my opener and soldered the contact so that it is always on. I then took the battery out and wired the positive and negative battery posts into the positive and negative leads on the high beam switch. This way I do not have to worry about a new battery. When you click the light on high beam power is sent to the remote and with the contact always on the door opener is activated. I always ride with low beams so it works great.
OK, I've finally decided what I'm gonna do: I'm gonna short across the contacts on the opener so I will be in to open mode all the time. Then I'm gonna solder leads to the battery contacts on the opener and splice them into the ACC button wires. Then I can open my door by switching the ACC switch off and on and won't have to mess with replacing the battery in the opener and won't have to have another button/switch anywhere. I don't use the ACC button for anything anyway so why not. Because it's switched power, it will only work when the ignition is on.
Just something to think about. Does Harley offer a normally open momentary closed switch that fits in the space? Then it would just be a push button operation. Just a thought......

I bought the glove box door pouches from HD (29.95 part# 57400-06) and slip my GD opener in the right side and my Sat radio on the left side works good for me and there still room for my phone and other small misc. stuff. If I want to use the GD opener in another vehicle I grab it from the pouch. (not hard wired or attached to the bike) ride safe
Yes they make a momentary switch on the screaming eagle auto locks, I just bought one the part # is71764-07 I have not recieved it yet but should make it work ok.
