Detachable sissybar on a 2002 Electraglide Classic?
I just bought a 2002 Electraglide Classic that had a detachable Tourpack rack without the pak and want to mount a detachable sissybar off my previous 2000 Road King on it. The dealer sold me part number 53803-06 for the mounting kit. When I got home I saw on the box "fits all except FLHTC".
Does it "not fit" if you want to continue to use the detachable Tourpack rack? I don't plan to use that rack until I later, if ever, get a Tourpak for it.
Fits '94-'08 Touring models (except FLHTCUI, and '07-'08 FLHRSE3/4). '94-'96 models require separate purchase of Hardware Kit P/N 53660-05 and 53658-05.
MSRP US $41.95
I saw this too. The box also includes "FLHTC/I" in the except line. I found info on a dealer site that shows it as fitting too so maybe they made a misprint on the box or it means you can't use it with it the factory Tour-Pack rack.
Until the '06 or '07 parts catalog, HD didn't include FLHTC fitment on the detachable hardware even though the products fit the FLHTC with the TP removed. My take is HD didn't want to deal with customers disconnecting the antenna cable on the FLHTC. But the parts work on all the touring models--it's only been in the last year or two that HD introduced the kit to remove the TP on the FLHTC (still hasn't done this for Ultras); but, guys (me included) have beeen using the detachable products (sissy bar/tour pak) for years.

Just what I wanted to know, thanks. I just thought about the antenna on mine last night. The reception on the radio is great and as I mentioned there was no pack on mine when I bought it (or antenna). I didn't see an antenna cable coiled up anywhere under the seat when it was off so am hoping whoever owned it before installed one of the antennas that mount out of sight in the fairing. I don't really want to take the outing fairing off just to check.
