Motherwell makes a nice rack that replaces the passenger pillion that fits the Mustang Solo. It slides into the slots on the back of the Solo bolts and screws down to the rear fender where your pillion would normally attach. I think it's a better looking rack than the HD and you don't have to use any docking hardware. I' sure you could use it with tour Tour Pak without any problem .
Thanks IndyRider.
I like the Motherwell also and it's quite a bit cheaper, but I'm not sure it would keep larger saggy items like luggage , away from the saddlebags on a long trip. Might end up with paint damage. When I take off for a few days with the boys, I really prefer to leave the tourpac at home.
Anyone with pictures of the HD rack or the Motherwell on the bike I'd really like to see them.
And I'm curious to see a bike with a solo seat, fender rack and a tour pac.
I wouldn't advise using over sized bags with the Motherwell rack alone. The floppy luggage would probably work best with the Solo rack *and* the saddlebag racks.
Even though the Solo rack fits on nice and secure it is not, IMO, meant to carry lots of weight or size, for that I use the quick detach solo rack w/Tourpac.
I'm not talking about anything more than an overnight bag. I normally strap it to the tourpac rack and wonder why the hell I even bother with the tour pac when I'm riding alone.
some of the other guys I ride with manage with no tourpacs on thier Street Glides.
IMO this looks better and handles better than a bike with a tourpac.

I hear you.
You should not have any problems getting all your overnight needs in your saddlebags and in a small bagkpack strapped to your Motherwell solo rack. Now *if*you were taking my sweetie and her overnite needs you'd need a trailer.
Here is a picture of mine with a bag bungee corded to it. I just made sure that when I did the bungees everything was tucked in so there would be no flapping around. Was gone for a week and about 1500 miles and it worked fine.
