Im thinking about buying a new street glide in the next few months. I was wondering if its worth spending the money on abs.

You already in that deep what is an extra couple bucks. Especially if they end up saving your butt. You are probably going to spend that much on pipes why not brakes.

I would love to be able to have them on my evo softail.

I have heard though that the ABS until is quite large.

Is this so?

I'm going to be the minority here, because most that will respond, and most I believe that have this choice will opt for the ABS. I opt'd not to get the ABS, my reason's being, one, I like the feel of the non-ABS system much better, two, the biggest advantage I see in the ABS is on wet surfaces and my bike will never see the rain. I don't put anywhere near the miles on these things as I used to. I plan to take delivery of my new '09 SG and just about completly disassemble it as I always do and that 800 bucks I saved will go towards the rebuild cost. I will say however that if resale value is important to you, ABS is a must. That's my take, Rich
