Does anyone know if rear crash bars and saddle bag supports that came off of a 2007 Road King Classic work with the stock bags on a 2008 Street Glide ?

Agreed. If you check page 406 of the '09 HD parts & accessories catalog you will see the chrome rear saddlebag guard kit, part no. 49291-07 fits '04-08 FLHX, etc. The guard and support off the Road King is that kit's guard and support.
