Is there a specific reason why not too many people put them on their Touring bikes?
I got a set of them to try out from a friend and find them not too loud and have a deep tone. No popping on decel either (although I'm putting a SCAC this week with the HD download).
Dearlers dowload is a waist of $$$$ on all '07 + Bikes get yourself a Fuel Management System...
Dealers are required to adjust per EPA and that will still be LEAN!!
I love my SE Slip ons. They are definatly louder then stock, deeper sound and I,m quite happe with them. Save yourself the $175.00 on the Download, and put it tword a Power Commander or Fuel Pak
I had the SE street legal performance slip-ons on my 07 RK and they were great. I will be putting the same on my 09 when it arrives.
I found the sound just about right, any louder and on long trips it just becomes tireing and annoying.
They are nice quality, you can change the end caps as the mood takes you and they are not really that expensive.
As an aside........I have used the ANBS on my last 2 bikes but now that HD makes a better stg1 backing plate for the 09's I will probably go with that. Should flow as well as the BS but actually costs less. In fact it is pretty much the same design as the BS, and is what HD should have done to the stg1 backing plate in the first place.
I love mine. I got a gentleman who did not like his give them to me. All I had to pay was shipping and buy the end caps that I wanted. Thank you, thank you, thank you "Road Glider"
I have the complete package on my '07. The reason? I had done the same thing on 2 previous bikes and was completly satisfied. By "complete package", I mean the SE slip-ons, SE a/c, and the $149 HD download. The dyno charts illustrated in the catalog show you what you can expect, and I have experienced zero disappointments. The sound is nice; deep & mellow, and the muffs are 50 state legal. There is no decel popping, and mileage is in the 40-45 range.
All in all, I would not hesitate to use the same package on my next bike.
There are hundreds of combinations on the market today, but rather than experimenting (very expensive) trying to find the right setup, I decided to stick with a proven winner.
BTW.........all of my friends who have gone this route are completly satisfied as well.
When I bought my 07 FLHT new they were already installed. I prefer much louder
exhaust but performance wise, the SE's are fine. Thats why thery're still on the bike.
