I am a big guy and i had the wifey on the back. I just got back from lunch and took a cruise solo. It may be a little firm right now. So there might be something to the less air thing.
I weigh 290 and the owners manual says 300 plus that you should fill to 50.
Sorry, I stand corrected, you would definitely require more than the 5-8 psi they were recommending!
Wow...beautiful bike! Dark Blue Pearl is my favorite HD color this year...you did good. Now you need to get a better camera that takes better pictures...those pictures dont do that beautiful bike justice. ; - )
More thoughts:
This bike is night and day from an '08 when it comes to tracking the lines in the road. I was riding in the diamond lane on a familiar stretch of the 91 freeway. I have learned how to handle the grooves in the diamond lane with the 08's that i have rented. They really were a pain. I specifically aimed the '09 at the grooves.... No problems. It didnt grab the grooves like the 08's. Big improvement.
Also - I am not sure that i like the new gearing on the 09. The sweet spot on the freeway is 70 - 75 mph instead of 80 on the '08's. Will have to put a few more highway miles on it to be sure.
