I've got SE Leather backrest that I had on my 05 UC and I know the seat does not fit the 08 model years, but I'm wondering if my 05 brace and backrest fit my 08?
this may sound stupid, but have you taken the seat off your 08 and tried setting the part from the 05 uc on the bike to see if it will fit? might take a little effort on your part, but at least you'll know first hand, if it will work or not, ya think??
I'm about 99% sure it will fit.
When they changed the frame in 09 , the lip behind the battery is now gone.
I made a bracket yesterday so I could fit my 06 backrest to the new frame.
The accessories catalog now lists a new part for the 09 to mount the existing backrests to the new frame , but I figured for $29.00 I'd whip one up myself and it works.
I'll have some pics in about a week of the mod.

Hey Emwold, I'm with you. No reflection or disrespect to Rapz, but it's amazing how many people post all over these forums and never pick up a wrench and "try first" the most simple and basic mechanical skills. I wonder sometimes how some of these folks got their bike home!
