I'm thinking of swapping the 9-spoke stock HD wheels on my Ultra for a set of Forge Tec 3.5 x 16 inch wheels.
Does anyone have Forge Tec wheels installed?
Will this swap require any special spacers, etc or will the stock chrome HD spacers work. Are there any alignment issues that I should be aware of?
Will a Dunlop/Avon/Metzler 3.5 tire rub any where?
Are there any other issues I should be aware of? J
ust looking for some some advice from anyone who has installed 16 x 3.5 inch after market wheels on their bagger.
The forge tec wheels are awesome, very strong and finish holds up well.Might want to try Shooter64 here on this site for prices, great guy to deal with and will answer all your questions, fast service but some of these wheels take several weeks to come in.No special spacers should be needed.Im running the forge tecs but bigger size dia wise along with Hds IDS and have no issues.
Shooter,
They are 1", and that is the size of the axles for my 2007 Ultra.
I wasn't sure about spacers and pulley width.
I'm trying to locate some matching rotors and a pulley now for the Forge Tec "Monarch" line.
HD has something close if I get in a pinch.
I'm also trying to select a tire for the swap, I'm checking out Dunlop, Metzler and Avon out of them should have what I need.
