Anyone out there had a problem with installing on 06 SG? . I got SEA/C, dual rineharts, and USB III. I had a bad hickup on the bike rite after the install of all three items, it made like 74 hp at the tire, at wide open., but driveability sucked. My dyno guy that I was useing then said it was the plug wires, changed to Taylor 10mm's, no change. I took it to Piper Performance, and he said it shows a problem with the factory ECM. So off to the dealer for a reflash. Now back to the dyno,by the way dealer wont do a reflash, only a stage one download, $ 217.00 Now back to the dyno, 68hp just with the stage one download, put on the USB,and the hickup is back, tried another, strait out of the box, same crap. My SG was buiolt in 8/05 and does have the 8# injectors, but after you've installed the pipes the dealer wont pay for the new injectors........
The download is garbage, and if the dealer suggested it, that should be the 1st red flag. Not trying to be an *** to you in anyway, just hate to see folks hard money taken. Be firm and return your bike to stock and start looking for another service dept., even if its 200 miles away. Good luck.
I've had a PC III on my bike for over two years and never had a problem.Maybe HD put something in the new ECM to make that happen.I only here of probs with the 06's and the early PC's.I am no expert by anymeans just my two cents.
Joe
Thanks for the .02 Joe,but I see theres lots of other owners using the PC III on there bikes. I cant return it to stock Topper I done sold off the stock crap, and as far as the download goes, acording to the A/F graph on the dyno it's not far off. The dyno guy says it is plenty fat.
I coppied this from another thread. Hope it helps.....
"I had the same problem with my PCIII USB, hard starting and a misfire between 1100 and 1800 RPM. The hard starting was a simple reprograming problem and the misfire was the acc pump program needed to be turned off and the cylinder trim set to 0.
Bike now runs great from idle to redline! And no hard start!
Contact Power Commander (phone or e-mail) and they will walk you through it. You will need to download their latest software update before you start.
Wish I had an answer for you, but I don't. Iam running a PCIII on my 06 with no problems. Starts right up and run excellent. If your not using a PC dealer, which I would, Iam sure a phone call can help solve your problems.
Everything I've read here, PC has customer service that rocks, atleast while your under the warranty[&:]
FWIW.....My HD download for my bike was dangerously lean at tip-in till approx 2000 rpm's. That was enough for me to dyno tune my bike with the PC. Now the bike runs completely different from idle to redline with more power and tq. But most importantly, driveability is vastly improved. See the dyno thread for my hp/tq gains

To start with the HD ECM "download" for the 06 is a bunch of crap and a waste of money. You really can't do much with the 06 ECM except raise the RPM limiter due to the EPA regs.
If the PC USBIII is installed and programed correctly it will preform great throughtout the RPM range.
Male sure you have the latest PC USBIII program upgrade from their web site.
Make sure you have the proper download from their web site for your bike with the proper exhaust and intake program. Download this program for your bike to your lap top.
Open the PC USBIII program for your bike. It has to be connected to the bike before you can open any of the files to make changes. Make sure you have the accelerator pump program turned off!!!!! Make sure you turn the cylinder trim to "0"!!!!!
Make sure you have the throttle position correct. To do this with the program open on your laptop and connected to your bike, turn the bike switch to the run position, (do not start the bike) watch your lap top program and with the throttle closed select "OK" on the program. Open the throttle wide open and Select "OK" on the program. This sets the throttle position.
Make sure the PC USBIII accepts this.
Again, you must make sure the PC USBIII accepts the program and you have the proper download. If you want to go back to the stock HD ECM program, just set the PC USBIII to a "0" program, this will bypass the PC USBIII programing and the bike will run from the stock HD setup.
If you try to use the accelarator pump program, and cylinder trim together the program will not work properly. Simply use the down load that matches your system and the bike will run fine.
You will also need to install a new set of "stock" HD spark plugs. If you use anything else the HD ECM will not run properly. It is designed to put out an exact ammount of voltage to the plugs, if one is misfiring or you have the wrong plugs, it confuses the computer and everything goes haywire.
