Default Harley Auto Trans.

I had someone tell me that he read an article in a magazine ( he didn't recall which one ) about a automatic trans. that will be available in 2010. I have not seen it mentioned in this forum so I doubt it is true. Has anyone else heard this rumor?
I don't think I would ever be interested in an auto. on a bike. How about you?

Seriously doubt it. Never heard of it. Don't think it would sell. One of the Jap bikes is doing it, probably Honda...

Most older folks (H.D. riders) learned to work the clutch and shifter long ago. The benefit would probably be to those younger riders that have not learned how to shift correctly yet.

I heard that rumor back in the late 60's too, but I don't think it will ever happen in my lifetime. Best change I've seen in that regard was getting rid of the stick shift and suicide clutch.

Automatic, what will they come out with next? Air conditioning? Power seats?

Harley always had an auto transmission as an option. It's called the Homosapien adaptor.

Honda put one on a 750 years ago, I think it was two speeds. I rode one that a friend had, and it was pathetic. The slowest bike I had ever ridden. I don't want one on my Harley that's for sure.

If you live in the hills, and ride the twisties, I think the last thing you would want is an automatic transmission.
