i have a 09 SG with a 8" clearview recurve on it. im prolly 5'10" and i still get bad buff above 60 or so. i wear a full face arai rx7 corsair. so im not sure what else i should do. the 12" looks stupid imo. might try a hd 9". some say get the air deflectors. some say get the lower fork thing. i have no idea but its driving me nuts.

Unlimited,

You wear a full face helmet on a Street Glide, but think a 12" windscreen looks stupid? I'm sure there's a joke there somewhere

Straps on the glasses cured my problem.

I know a SG rider who keeps both an 11 inch and 4 inch in his bags. If he is going on a long ride on the HW, he puts on the 11 inch. If he is just riding around town, he pulls out his screwdriver and three minutes later the short one is back on..

I have 6", 8", and 10" Fastaire (all for less than the cost of a single recurve). I just slip on whichever fits my riding for the day. But for highway cruising (and bug deflection) I tend to agree that the best solution is at nose-height.

Get a pair of riding glasses like Panoptix Bora's or similar. You will regard them as the best purchase you have made. No more wind issues with eyeglasses.

I have a 8" recurve on order from Clearview. I had 9.5" on the Ultra and it was maybe a little more than I needed but helped for the passenger. I agree that little air deflector that comes stock may look good, but is absolutely worthless.

I use an 8 and 9 1/2 w/recurve and a 12" in cooler weather.

I could not agree more. I have a pair of the panoptix, and use the elastic strap. My glasses never move. Just FYI I am 6'3" and that puts me quite a bit above the standard 4 inch deflector.
