money back
You can get the full purchase price back within 60 days of delivery , provided no claim has been filed against it ..
After that I believe it's prorated ..
There are a bunch of opinions on both sides of the issue on this forum .. I got it on my '08 for five years ..
My reasoning is :
I dont trade every couple years and I put miles , lotsa miles on them ..

yep, and it's prorated from day 1, not the day that the factory warranty expires. plus, if the bike is financed, they will send the money to the lienholder, not you.
so who won?
as far as the warranty being valid on a stage I, you're going to get as many different answers as there are dealers. some dealers will attempt to void the warranty if you so much as fart on the seat. others are much more 'forgiving'. best thing is to talk with your dealer and see what they say. course, you have to remember, that doesn't help you much if your 1000 miles from home and your bike dies.
in any case, for the warranty to be void, the modification that you did has to be responsible for the malfunction. see the magnuson-moss warranty act.
