does anyone know the size of the upper fork nut on a 06 flht standard? want to change my oil like some of the posts have done but 1 post calls for a 36 mm wrench to break the nut loose. too big. tried a 34 too small. is it sae? metric? at a stand still until i find the proper size

I used a pair of channel locks to remove mine (and a few others) . A little piece of duct tape keeps it from getting marred up.

I hear ya, I like having the right tool for the job too. But they are not on very tight, and you can easily remove them without marring them if you are careful.

I used 36mm which is the axle nut wrench in my stock tool kit. I wedged a little piece of aluminum from a pop can so it was tight. it worked great no marring.
