Picked up the new Ultra, love the bike, but the wife needs alittle more support in the lower back area of her backrest. There is a small leather pad there but not much support. Any ideas or suggestions???????? Thanks for any and all ideas...Dave
The older Ultras, like my 02 had a different set up on the passenger back rest. Ya might give one of those a look and see if something like it would help.
If that's really a serious concern, you might consider removing the TourPak, installing the docking hardware, and putting on a regular detachable backrest for her. Much better lower back support. You can put the detachable rack on your TourPak, so you can put it back on for those long trips. Just a suggestion. An expensive one, but a suggestion nevertheless.
My wife noticed the same thing on ours.
The lower piece looks to be like a small pouch , so we were thinking of removing it and stuffing it with different/thicker foam and trying a few thicknesses till she's comfortable.
When we get it right , I'll post what we found.
