Default riders backrest

have you found that your passenger has enough room on the Ultra Classic when you put on a riders backrest?

Yup, but it's a lot roomier if you get a George Anderson Tour pak relocation kit.

We tried the backrest with the wife and she fits fine (5'7" 130lbs), the problem I have is that I don't like it. I am 6'2" and it makes me set too far forward, I adjusted the setting all the way back but still not comfortable. I guess I will try it every six months or so to remind myself why it just sets on the shelf, or sell it on eBay.

Mrs. spiz is 5'3", 105-112 depending on the day. Your wife will fit just fine. In fact, my wife likes how she fits on the glide better than the VTX. On the VTX she felt too far away. I have no relocation kit.

But the rider's backrest is what makes either the rider or passenger too cramped. The question is really about the backrest for the rider, at least I think that's it.

Javawave, your wife should have plenty of room with the rider backrest in place. Just make sure the tour pack is located to its rearward position (should have come that way) and at 5'4" you may want to raise the passenger boards a notch to make sure her legs clear the saddlebag guards.

how do I know if its clear back? the tour pak just touches the bottom of the passenger seat. Maybe it goes back further. As for the riders backrest, I'm sure it will move me forward, My previous bikes did but i found it still to be better than no backrest on the long rides. did 260 miles yesterday and felt like a knife between my shoulder blades. I was just worried about the wife having enough room.
