Looks good. How much labor time did you have removing the inner. I took a quick peek when installing my Hogtunes, and it looked fairly complicated. Not sure if I want to tackle it myself. Thanks.

I did a gloss black on mine and it does not show the "fine scratchs and you were worried about" I also was a little worried about the "job" I bought a spare (check ebay) and had that one painted... then did the swap in one day... Had I just pulled everything out and sent the faring off to be painted.. by the time it got back - I would have forgotten how it all went back together.... If you have a buddy with a FLHT - you can pull his outer faring off and just use his as a guide on how yours goes back together... or just have your HD guys at $70+ an hour do it... NOTTTT lol

Looks great! I wanted to do the same thing to mine only in black but I think after cleaning it etc it will show to many fine scratches and that would drive me even more crazy.

Someone here had a Road Glide and they painted just the small faring cap for the speedo / tac .... the contrast between gloss black and flat black was nice.... would like to see that again.... Are you still out there????

Looks good but what made you chose the silver over the blue?

I disassembled, painted and clear coated in about 3 hours using color air dry matched paint. I reassembled the following day being VERY careful and it only took 1 1/2 hours. Be careful to keep everything together as far as gages with brackets. And don't forget to paint the outer screws to match the outer fairing. It looks harder than it really is. $42.00 bucks for paint and I had the clear. I thought the blue would be too much but may decide to try that later. It aint nuttin but a thang..
