Default Left turn scrape

Ride an '08 flhr. When I take a left turn or ride twisties my kick stand hits the pavement! Fellow riders have followed me and my lean angle seems ok. The dealership says all is ok. Some say the foot boards should "sharpen" first. Any help would be helpfull as I am getting a little shy turning left! With the wife on board it is no worse.

I ride an 07 Street Glide and when I'm on it the first thing to scrape on the left is the jiffy stand to. Lean it further and you'll scrape the floorboard. On the right side you’ll hit the floorboard first and then the cast iron floorboard support. Coming from sportbikes I used to “sharpen” things up every time out. I’ve adjusted my riding style accordingly and rarely ever scrape anything. I must be getting old… That or I’ve learned to lengthen the distance of my apexes…

You're riding it wrong. Man's got to know his limitations.....you've found yours, if you insist on riding this way I suggest you push it a little harder and unload that back tire and report back.

Thanks ! I'll adjust my style and see what happens. Funny my buddies didn't tell me this. Glad to know it is me and not the bike.

I don't scrape very often, but when I do it is usually on the left side. Not only is it that the jiffy stand hangs down a bit lower than the footboard, but most riders tend to turn left more aggressively than right. I know I do. Same in u-turns. I can turn the bars full-lock on a tight left hand u-turn every time, but when turning right, I don't cut it as tight.

Hey-- cool guys!!! I guess we all need to find our limits. Thanks again, maybe I'll get some of those feelers from the cars back in the 50's & 60's

When I put up the jiffy stand, I tuck it up a bit further with my heel, then it doesn't scrape. Floorboards do though.
